Hand Balancing Fundamentals - Bierwirth

$100Purchase required to enroll

Unlike many other circus arts hand balancing, at its best, is a restful and meditative practice. The journey to finding that level of strength, balance, and focus is immensely fun and pays enormous dividends in other fields of movement arts. This workshop will focus on developing the functional flexibility to make inversions feel powerful and controlled. Exercises will emphasize wrist and shoulder ranges of motion, core stability, and hand strength- all crucial to hand balancing success. Balance exercises will be aimed at not just achieving a few seconds of float, but understanding how balance in a handstand works and how it can be improved. At the end of the workshop each student will have the tools to direct their own hand balancing progress and practice their inversions safely.

This is a 3 part series that will meet F-Su from 3-4:30p. You must be available for all lessons in the series.

Prerequisites: All levels are welcome for this class. Material may be challenging for students with current wrist or shoulder injuries.
